The Urban Reader: Being Project Jane
BEING PROJECT JANE
By Tracy Divine
Hello my name is Shawnyka Bryant. And I am here to tell you all about this book that I read called, “Being Project Jane.” But before I do, let me tell you a little bit about myself so you as readers will have a better understanding about me.
I was born and raised in the state of New Jersey. I’m a young African American woman who loves to read a good book. Concerning the above mentioned, I would have loved to give this book a good review. However, I cannot do so, at least not in good conscience. My reason for not doing so is because outside of this having a good storyline, it was a very hard book to read due to so many major Editor Errors!
With that being said, I think maybe some of yall may need to get your money back and start over with a new editor. I’m serious, because honestly, it doesn’t make any d*mn sense as to how many errors occurred in this book. I mean it was so much to the point whereas I could not even focus on the storyline itself.
Being Project Mary Jane is about a woman who struggles with an identity crisis. The crisis of either being a good woman or not, due to her upbringing. Jane eventually becomes a successful therapist for the stars, while being married to a man who is a producer of his own reality shows.
Subsequently, being married doesn’t satisfy Mary’s craving for the thug life. And Jane’s cravings lead her to a road of being a celebrity in the worst way. There are a lot of twists and turns in this story that could’ve led you to want to read more …but once again I say…“Get a New Editor!”
